About The Event
At the corner of W. 25th and Lorain Avenue in the Ohio City neighborhood, just across the street from the West Side Market, a tall red crane towers over a busy construction site of yet another major development project in Greater Cleveland. But despite the familiar look of the site, this will be anything but a typical project.
The $144 million INTRO project will be a nine-story building with 300 apartments, 36,000 square feet of retail space, underground parking, and a public plaza. Most significant, however, will be the construction method used to build the project, known as mass timber construction. Mass timber uses large beams composed of natural or engineered wood in place of traditional materials such as steel or concrete for the main load-bearing structural components of the building. When completed in early 2022, INTRO will be the tallest mass timber building in the United States.
Hear from the project’s developer about the many unique attributes of the INTRO project, learn about mass timber from one of the leading global producers and suppliers, and find out how the Port of Cleveland is playing an integral role in this project and future transformative developments in Cuyahoga County.
